      Hello, my name is Emily Doering and this is my individual portfolio. I am a freshman at Central Michigan University studying Hospitality and Sustainability. Currently, I am declared as a Hospitality Services Administration major in the College of Business. I have enjoyed my Hospitality classes, but I am not sure if I see myself enjoying being a business major. Therefore, I have begun considering switching to an Environmental Studies major, instead of pursing a Sustainability and Environmental Policy Minor. I would still minor in Hospitality, because of my interests in working with hotels. My Individual Work: Cover Letter : This class taught me the important skill of developing a cover letter. This is my current sample that I will continue to revise as I apply to future jobs.  Direct Memo : I wrote this direct memo as a practice for communicating within an organization, specifically delivering the good news of a promotion offer.  Indirect Letter : Writing this allowed me to understand the best way convey bad news in a professional manner.  Marriott Research Report : Writing this research paper was not easy work, but really helped me learn. It taught me how to format reports using Microsoft Words, how to write in past tense while discussing the future, and how to research effectively.  Group Project: My group project was the creation of the Lokelani Resort & Casino in Maui, Hawaii.
